Fall colors

I love this time of year.  It is different here on the coast, not as many bright colors, cloudy and misty or sunny blue skies.  Great time for whale watching.

But I love fall colors, many of my fiber designs feature autumn leaves.  So when we had a chance to go up in the cascades this weekend I was all ready to see fall colors, and I wasn't disappointed.

These are vine maples, taken at Clear Lake.  I didn't get a picture of them against the lava flows, but that is always spectacular.

Sunday in the studio.

Trying some new products and dye techniques, today's results seemed pretty magical:

And a picture of the roses because they are finishing up:

I won't be able to hang stuff outside to dry much longer.

Slow progress

I did get a chance to do some dyeing this last month, but not nearly as much as I wanted.  And today it is gray and drizzly and the kids are heading back to school.  This means my work load will be picking up too, but I still hope to plan some time to create.  You know, the whole "work-life balance" thing.

The new store on etsy is created, but not stocked.  I did come up with a name, and a logo

The shop will be called OnSiletzBay.

Some sneak previews of work in progress.
